WoW Herbalism Guide 1-600
WoW Herbalism Leveling Guide 1-600
Here is the WoW Herbalism Guide that will get you from start (1) to Zen mastery (600). Updated for Mists of Pandaria with optimized routes.
The focus here is on finding routes for each skill range that will minimize the time it will take you to increase your skill levels. The same routes can also be used for farming herbs if needed. The best compliment to Herbalism is Alchemy which will allow you to utilize your gathered herbs in various recipes that can be sold off. If you see links to items like [Enchant Gloves - Gatherer], just hover the mouse over it to get more info.
There are a couple of very useful add-ons that will help you in leveling and profiting from your Herbalism Skill:
1. Gathermate 2 - this add on will allow you to tap into the database of all the the gathering professions and show you the location of every mining node, herb, treasure, gas cloud etc. Get it here. When you are in game, open you Gathermate 2 options and click “Import”, this will download the locations of all the “gatherable” stuff for you!
2. Tycoon - This add-on will allow you to create the most profitable paths for gathering based on the prices and competition on the Auction House. You will walk away a rich man after leveling your skill to 600. Check it out here.
3. Leveling and Professions in-game guide – If you are starting a brand new character from level 1 this could be a great add-on for you. It will give the fastest leveling paths in game. Take a look here.
Apprentice Herbalism Leveling Guide 1 – 70

Getting [Enchant Gloves - Gatherer] will save you a lot of time and headache in the long run. Look on the auction house to see it if you can buy [Scroll of Enchant Gloves - Gatherer]. Having a set of gloves with that enchant on hand will allow you to hit higher end herbs and overcome certain “dead zones” skill ranges where leveling is difficult.
Get to skill level 70 in whatever started zone you are in.
You will gather the following herbs: [Peacebloom], [Silverleaf], [Earthroot]
Tirisfal Glades
Elwynn Forest
70 – 150 Journeyman Herbalism
You will gather the following herbs: [Mageroyal], [Briarthorn], [Bruiseweed]
Get to a trainer to learn Journeyman Herbalism and then it’s off to Hillsbrad Foothills. If you are an Alliance and have difficulty in Hillsbrad Foothills, Darkshore can be an alternative.
Hillsbrad Foothills
This zone should go fairly fast. The “inner circle” is a bit more higher level, so gather there when you are 125-150.
150 – 230 Herbalism
Learn Herbalism Expert to continue.
You will gather the following herbs: [Kingsblood], [Fadeleaf], [Khadgar's Whisker], [Goldthorn]

This part will take a little longer because Khadgar’s Whiskers will be unavailable until you hit 160 and you will spend a lot of time farming herbs that are “green” to you. Stick with it and you will get to 200 in time.
Train up when you hit 200.
Feralas
230 – 285 Herbalism
You will gather the following herb: [Sungrass]
The main herb you are after here is Sungrass. Thousand Needles is the more efficient route that will give you skill ups all the way through, with Eastern Plaguelands being a close second, simply because it has a slightly lower level herbs, which will slow you down at the end. If you have a flying mount, your best bet is to go to Thousand Needles.
If you’re on foot, just stick to the blue line, which should be sufficient to get you leveling up. You can make a larger circle if you have a flying mount, just follow the black line.

285 – 325 Herbalism
You will gather the following herbs:
Swamp of Sorrows: [Golden Sansam], [Sorrowmoss]
Felwood: [Gromsblood], [Purple Lotus], [Dreamfoil], [Golden Sansam]

525-600 WoW Herbalism Guide (Pandaria)
525 – 550 Herbalism Guide – Jade Forest
Get Trained up in Zen Herbalism. Here are the Herbalism trainers in Mists of Pandaria.
You will gather [Rain Poppy] and [Green Tea Leaf] in Jade Forest.
The red dots on the map are the Rain Poppy (525) and the green ones are Green Tea Leafs (500). Just following the path along the river and picking up the Rain Poppies is very efficient for skill ups. There are some [Sha Touched Herbs] in the center, but you can’t pick them until you are 575.
550 – 575 Herbalism Guide – Valley of the Four Winds
Here we will mainly gather [Silkweed]. Same deal as before, most of the herbs will be closest to bodies of water so stick to the rivers and lakes closely, checking both shores.
575 – 600 Herbalism – Kun-Lai Summit or Dread Wastes
You have a choice of farming Kun-Lai Summit or Dread Wastes here. If you choose Kun-Lai Summit:
You will gather [Snow Lily].
All the Snow Lilies seem to be concentrated in the center, couple laps around the track and you should be good.
…and for Dread Wastes:
You will gather [Sha-Touched Herb].
All the Sha Touched Herbs are concentrated along the path so it’s easy to find them and gather. There are other herbs on the map, but it’s your best bet to just ignore them and focus on the route outlined.
Grats! You are done. For now…

If you have 24 hours a day to farm, then this is something that probably isn’t for you. For most students/working professionals, spending a few bucks to save hours a day in grinding just makes sense.
